Finalist
Grace Rowe’s screenplay AMERICAN SEOUL (aka Seoul to America) has been made into an award-winning short. While shopping the short for full-financing, Grace has finished her first feature film entitled “I Am That Girl”.

Finalist Megan Parsons’
screenplay FRESHLY POPPED, a teen comedy, was picked up for development by Overture Films (the producers of "The Pursuit
of Happyness").
Catherine Dutko’s winning screenplay
MACARTHUR PARK is currently under option with the Johnson-Roessler, Co. Since
winning in 2004, Catherine has gone on to have two (2) other scripts optioned.
She has created a web series called “The Other Normal!” The
latest episode is a spoof on Twilight Moms.
Alan Roth was able to
successfully leverage his Finalist status. A management company agreed to look at his script, STORIES JUST OFF THE
TURNPIKE, and afterward brought him on as a client. The script, now entitled HANG TIME, was subsequently optioned. His
next script was optioned as well, and now he is working on his first for-hire project, a novel adaptation.
After winning the Cynosure
Competition, Paul Davison optioned his script THE TRIPLE NICKLES twice, but it was never produced. Currently the script is under consideration with a major talent agency.
Davison writes, “Of all of my scripts, THE TRIPLE NICKLES is still closest to my heart and I
would like nothing more to share this heroic and historic story with American audiences.”
ACCOLADES
Finalist Robert Davenport’s
script, HELLFIGHTER FROM HARLEM has collected over nine screenwriting awards since placing in the Cynosure
Screenwriting Competition. In 2009, this script was selected to participate in the Tribeca All Access
(TAA) program, a year round program of the Tribeca Film Institute.
Finalist Julian Breece
has been named one of the "Ten Exciting New Voices in Black Cinema" for his short film "The Young & Evil" - a film about
the rise of HIV/AIDS infection among young, gay African Americans. His script BALL was also a 2007
Nicholl Finalist.
Finalist Marie Manilla
still hasn’t found a home for her award-winning script AMNESTY, however she continues to write and
publish fiction regularly. She has a novel coming out in 2009 called Shrapnel
which explores the legacy of war in three generations of men from the same family. To
